Description
The elevated position delivers absolutely glorious panoramic sea and mountain views from the balcony or through the wall to wall windows at first floor level. Villa Kallisto enjoys a tranquil rural setting, within fairly easy walking distance of the sandy beaches, shops and tavernas of Almyrida, especially in the cool of the evening.
Clean lines and an uncluttered dove grey facade make a bold statement of modernity but Villa Kallisto nevertheless sits surprisingly at ease amongst the olive trees. Far removed from ancient Cretan dwellings this is Nectarios and Penny (who also own Villa Nynemia) second Villa built in the style and taste of a new age.
The beautiful salt water pool is surrounded by the olive grove.

Standing on a terraced hillside a little under 2 km from Almyrida, Villa Kallisto is set amongst 5,000sqm of olive groves. It's a 25min downhill walk into the laid back small resort of Almyrida with mini markets and other small shops and taverna tables on the waterfront.
2 kms inland, the pretty village of Gavalohori offers a further choice of excellent tavernas and a baker amongst its streets.
The beautiful Venetian harbours of Chania and Rethymnon are both easy to visit from Villa Kallisto and a trip into the nearby mountains is unmissable.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in this spacious and comfortable villa. There are wonderful views out to the sea and mountains from the lounge/dining areas with lots of outside seating on both levels. The pool is a good size and the table tsee more
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in this spacious and comfortable villa. There are wonderful views out to the sea and mountains from the lounge/dining areas with lots of outside seating on both levels. The pool is a good size and the table tennis table is a nice addition. The kitchen is well equipped. The Villa is in a quiet location away from the town. A car is probably essential here as it’s quite a walk to shops and restaurants. The small village of Gavalohori is a delight and is a short drive away. We appreciated the welcome pack and the delicious chocolate cake made by the owner.

It is designed and built in the “upside down” style, with the main open plan living area, kitchen, and balcony on the first floor, and the three double/twin bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower, on the ground floor, with sliding french windows opening onto the secluded swimming pool area. Pool is fabulous and villa was spotless and had absolutely everything we needed. The mosquito screens/shutters/excellent air conditioning throughout the villa made it such a comfortable place to be and we all slept very well!. Almerida is a gorgeous spot and we really enjoyed visiting Chania and the beautiful Elafonisi beach but also spent several days just relaxing at the villa as it was such a great place to relax! Thanks from all of us for a fabulous holiday!

Myself and a friend stayed in Villa Kallisto at the end of September, start of October and had a truly perfect stay. Our hosts Penny and Nectarios were very welcoming and even made us a delicious chocolate cake for our arrival. A thoughtful touch. Thsee more

Our hosts Penny and Nectarios were very welcoming and even made us a delicious chocolate cake for our arrival. A thoughtful touch. The house is stunning and the pictures represent it very well. It was spotlessly clean with everything we could possibly want for our stay. The beds were comfortable and bedrooms very spacious and the living space is modern and open. The sunset views are unbelievable from the first floor balcony and are perfect way to end the day. I would not hesitate to re-book a stay here again. It’s the perfect distance from Chania and Almyrida is a gorgeous seaside village. We had a car so the freedom to explore the island was amazing. Thanks for the perfect stay!”
